Blue Wildebeest Taxidermy Shoulder Mount

35 x 30 x 35"

The Blue Wildebeest is one of those animals that you look at, then look at how fast they can run, and feel the smoke pouring from your ears. These gigantic antelopes can weigh up to 600 lbs and reach speeds of 50 mph. That’s a lot of animal going extremely fast but despite this burst of speed, they are built for endurance. Sure, they can get going real quick when they need to, but they primarily try to wear down predators chasing them with their sustained mobility. When they aren’t running marathons, they are traveling with their buddies. They migrate in massive herds. In East Africa, especially in the Serengeti and Maasai Mara, over a million blue wildebeest travel in the Great Migration, following rains and fresh grass.

What really sticks out to us about them is their nickname. The blue wildebeest is called the “clown of the savanna” mostly because it looks and acts kind of goofy. It’s got this weird mix of a big cow-like head, shaggy hair, and skinny legs, so it already looks a little funny. On top of that, they do random bursts of running, jumping, and kicking that seem chaotic and silly. But it’s actually useful since those moves help them stay alert, avoid predators, and practice getting stronger, especially when they’re young.

This is a neat mount with a lot of charm. Clownish charm, but charm nonetheless.

Important Shipping Info For Oversized Items:

Please Note: Oversized items like this do not qualify for the free shipping discount.

For more information about our shipping policies, please see our shipping page.

Please note:  We will do our best to ship via conventional methods, but some mounts are just too big for carriers to handle safely.

For Conventional: We will work to find you the best shipping rate and invoice you once it’s determined. Our in-house rates are typically lower than what you’d find at your local shipping store, as we regularly send out packages. Once your item is packed and ready, we’ll invoice you for the shipping. If the cost is more than you’re comfortable with, you can cancel your order at no charge.

Non-Conventional: If we are unable to ship via conventional methods, we recommend a taxidermy-specific carrier called Trophy Transport. Once purchased, we ask that you reach out to them to arrange shipping and payment. After that is done, we will work out the logistics and pickup with them.

We can also work with another carrier of your choice, but for taxidermy, they are generally the best and most affordable option since they do not need to crate the piece which is expensive.
