Hackmanite Palmstone

Hackmanite is a rare variety of sodalite that got into EDM and became a rave kid. Ok, jokes aside, this mineral absolutely lights up under sunlight or UV light. Thanks to something called tenebrescence, it can turn from a pale, milky stone into a laser-tag–level glow in seconds once exposed to the right lighting. We tried to capture that in the images but it's so much more vibrant in person.

Tenebrescence is a property of certain minerals or gemstones that allows them to change color when exposed to sunlight or ultraviolet (UV) light and then gradually return to their original color when kept in the dark. This effect happens because light temporarily alters the way electrons are trapped in the crystal structure, creating a reversible color change.

It’s always amazing to see how nature can be so incredibly beautiful in plain view, but also keep little secrets that require us to experiment. Hackmanite is full of neon pink, purple, and blue surprises that really need to be seen to be fully appreciated.

According to Metaphysics: Hackmanite is a color-changing stone believed to support emotional healing, self-expression, intuition, and protection. Its shifting colors are thought to help balance moods and foster adaptability, making it a popular stone for transformation and personal growth.
