Native Copper
Sourced from the the Keweenaw Peninsula, Michigan.
Native copper occurs in nature as an element in pure form or as an alloy. It grows mostly as an irregular mass or fracture fillings and is deep red to orange and brown in color. These copper specimen have grown around other minerals such as quartz. It's one of the few metallic elements to occur in native form, although it most commonly occurs in oxidized states and mixed with other elements. Native copper was discovered through metal smelting in the prehistoric times and still belongs to the keystones of modern civilization. Since it has a low melting point and is very malleable, it made for the perfect material to craft early tools, jewelry and weapons. In the todays world, we use copper as a electrical conductor as it is the second best conductor right behind silver. Native copper is found only in small quantities throughout the world, but there are a few areas that are rich in findings, such as the Keweenaw Peninsula in Michigan.
According to metaphysics: it is a conductor of the spiritualist's belief system and is able to conduct spiritual energy back and forth between individuals, crystals, auras, the mind and the spirit world. It is also believed that copper has the power to amplify thoughts when sending and receiving psychic communications.
