You’ll never guess why these are called reedbucks. Okay, maybe you will. They get their name from where they like to hang out, in the reeds. They pick these spots because they’re great hiding places from predators, and they probably just have a cozy vibe. We’re mostly joking about that last part, but who knows how they actually feel about it.

Anyways, these small antelopes are not only cute, they can be pretty comical too. Reedbucks have a funny, high-pitched whistling call they use as an alarm. It can sound almost bird-like. Instead of running right away, they often freeze and rely on camouflage to avoid being seen. When they do bolt, they zigzag through tall grass.
